My fitness journey began humbly in high school when I struggled to bench press even the bar itself. This lit a spark within. I wanted to transform. Realising that my effort led to visible improvement was profound, like discovering a cheat code for life. Progress was not only possible but exhilarating, marking the beginning of my self-improvement journey.
Initially planning to pursue engineering, I followed my passion for health science, coaching mates while studying. I had envisioned a career in dietetics or exercise physiology, though by graduation, I’d become disillusioned with an industry focused on symptomatic treatment rather than lasting change.
I launched my own business, initially offering face-to-face PT services for a few years before transitioning to working an office job, and continuing to coach a diverse clientele online. As I matured on my own life journey, I grew accustomed to corporate schedules, the politics and culture, the demands of juggling this with a personal life, and gained a deeper understanding on how the world actually works. It's not just about effort, it's also about who you know, what you know, working smart, and seeing what's going on in the big picture.
I never stopped training myself and my health practices evolved. I created health software and methodologies that were perfect for a busy schedule. Despite working full-time I continued to improve, get fitter, and perform better, however, I realised that just about everyone else in my peer group was regressing, even if they were trying to be healthier.
It wasn’t because they didn’t try, their efforts were being misdirected.
I'd see my peers put a heap of effort into some fad from an influencer who didn't understand their lifestyle. Brain fog, low energy and bad posture was the norm and never addressed. Their nutrition wasn't properly tailored, their exercise was inefficient, and if they did follow a program, it was generic and didn't flow with their schedule. Their actions didn’t suit their lifestyle, and they’d end up disheartened a year later looking, weighing and feeling the same.
To me, how to fix their issue was so blatantly obvious. I’d stumbled into my niche - those balancing career with a busy lifestyle, sick of where they’re at, wanting to transform and find harmony in all areas of their life. Thus, Femme Flow was born.
